ELM Training Configured for Your Teams

What does “configure” mean to us? It means our clients can create a syllabus for each class by mixing and matching topics from our extensive library. It means our clients experience training tailored to their roles and processes without the high price tag associated with traditional custom course development.

How do we do it? Configuring a class starts with our modular course design. Instead of assuming a standard user, we identify key user roles. We analyze the skills required for successful product usage in each role. Then, we sort and sequence the skills, identifying entry-level skills, shared skills, and skill clusters. Following this extensive assessment, we group skills into topic lessons and construct a hands-on lab and corresponding lecture for each topic.

More Lab, Less Lecture

Our proprietary modular training system is designed to minimize lecture and maximize tool usage. A typical one-day class includes 15 to 20 topics. Within each topic is a brief lecture followed by a hands-on lab. Labs operate independently of each other, allowing clients to mix and match topics—even across tools.

Classes average 20% lecture time and 80% hands-on lab, so students leave class ready to use the product in their work environments. Most labs are built on out-of-the box templates and carefully constructed data scenarios. We use hints, examples, and repetition to ensure that students learn and retain the mechanics of the tool and required tasks.
